Specialty work is where a moving company earns its name. Elite Moving runs a dedicated specialty lead, Wyatt, and a backup, Hayden, who together have spent the better part of a decade rigging pianos, gun safes and oversized pieces around Hixson, the Chickamauga Lake homes and the Signal Mountain and Walden switchbacks.
What we move and how we move it
- Upright and console pianos — piano board, padded, strapped, four-wheel skid, three movers on the lift.
- Grand pianos — legs and lyre removed, body skidded on its side, padded, strapped and crated if the route demands.
- Gun safes — stair-climbing dollies, ramp boards, three movers minimum, drilled-down floor protection.
- Pool tables — disassembled to slate, padded and crated, re-leveled at the new home.
- Art, sculpture and antiques — custom-cut crating, mirror packs, acid-free wrap.
Lake homes and mountain switchbacks — where most movers turn the job away
Lakefront homes on Chickamauga Lake and the Soddy-Daisy waterfront usually mean dock steps, boat-house transfers and 30-foot stair runs. Signal Mountain and Walden Ridge homes sit at the end of a switchback driveway that won’t take a tractor. We walk these jobs the day before with the crew chief, rig the path, and bring a weight-rated truck that can actually hold the road.
